Featured Business: Oh Crumbs! Bread Company
Oh Crumbs! Bread Company is located on North Walnut in the former Marcie’s Barbershop. The whole building underwent a complete change with crisp exterior white paint, interior painting and ovens, and various other baking paraphernalia, and finishing with the incredible aroma of fresh bread baking in the back room. The large front window is the showcase for the perfect, crusty loaves of bread. The effect is of a little neighborhood bakery in a small French town, complete with a cheerful yellow umbrella and “Open” flag.
Scott and Jennifer, the owners, started the business in April 29, 2023. Scott, the baker, has turned out so many different types of delicious artisan breads, that the lines in the summer can go around the block. Customers wait patiently in line, as Scott said, finding something to talk about with others. He said that so many people tell him about the nice acquaintances that they’ve met while waiting. This is exactly what Scott and Jennifer were hoping would happen. They visualized their business as a place where folks could go for bread, coffee and conversation. They wanted it to be a meeting place, and not just a bakery.
Judging by the popularity of their business, they have definitely succeeded.
