Featured Business: Good Sense Coffee Company

Good Sense Coffee was opened by owners, Sarah and Ian Boyle in 2024.  Previously, Howell was familiar with their coffee truck that was a boon to many early Farmers’ Market visitors.  People love their early morning coffee.

When the former owner of the coffee house was selling, the two jumped in to provide their delicious coffee and baked goods to the rest of the town. After a time spent putting their stamp on the store, located on the northeast corner of Grand River and Michigan Ave, they opened for business.

The walls are now a soft cream color, as well as the fireplace, giving the interior a restful vibe for the customers.  The kids’ corner is a clever idea, with a big table, an old rotary wall phone for the children to play with, and a chalk board, which is always a hit.

One special touch is the dark orange Victorian couch placed directly in front of the fireplace, inviting folks to linger in front of the fire, while enjoying their delicious treat.

The bakery case on the counter has a nice selection of sweets to go along with coffee, or mixed coffee drinks, such as; mochas, lattes, hot chocolate, lemonade, and much more.

Besides providing wonderful coffee, the Boyles donate a percentage of their profits to helping orphans in impoverished areas, and to fighting human trafficking.
