About the event
Turn an everyday item into something completely your own in this fun and unique two session weaving workshop. We’ll learn how to weave custom shoelaces on an inkle loom that are both beautiful and practical. Whether your style is colorful and quirky, classic and understated, or somewhere in between, you’ll design a pair of laces that no one else has.
During the first session, you’ll learn how an inkle loom works, how to measure and prepare your warp, choose colors that fit your style, and begin weaving your laces. Between sessions, your loom will stay set up so you’re ready to continue weaving when you return. In the second session, we’ll complete your laces, finish the ends, and prepare them to lace up your favorite boots or shoes.
No previous inkle weaving experience is required. Beginners are welcome, and experienced weavers will enjoy experimenting with creative color combinations and personalized designs.
These custom laces also make an unforgettable handmade gift. Imagine giving someone a pair of handwoven laces designed especially for their favorite hiking boots, everyday sneakers, or dress shoes. It’s a thoughtful gift that is both useful and unlike anything they could buy in a store.
All weaving materials are included, and looms are provided for use during class. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own finished pair of handwoven shoelaces, the knowledge to weave more, and perhaps a new favorite accessory that is as unique as you are.
Come weave something unexpected. Once you wear handmade shoelaces, you’ll never look at ordinary laces the same way.
