Great Start Livingston is excited to bring StoryWalks to downtown Howell through Stories in Storefronts. A StoryWalk is a literacy-boosting project which places an illustrated children’s book, taken apart and displayed spread-by-spread, along a walking route. The StoryWalk also encourages physical activity. Families will enjoy various stops throughout our downtown and will find various activities you can do as you move from page to page. Stories in Storefronts will take place June through August.
This year’s book for Stories in Storefronts is Acoustic Rooster by Kwame Alexander. Meet Acoustic Rooster and his friends, Ella Finchgerald, Mules Davis, and Duck Ellington, as they perform in the big barnyard band competition. With jazz facts and eye-catching artwork from the PBS KIDS® show— Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band, produced by GBH Kids and Global Mechanic—this book really boogies as the story is told through lyrical, jazzy text—perfect for young readers.
Located throughout downtown Howell. The story begins at the Howell Carnegie District Library at 314 W. Grand River Ave., Howell, MI 48843
